Mapping: BIS - The Detection & Identification of Infectious Diseases

The Project produced a challenging and long-term vision for the detection and identification of infectious diseases in plants, animals and humans. This vision took account of the evolving risk of diseases; changing user requirements for detection and identification; and cutting-edge science. The Project aimed to inform policy at a national and international level. The specific aims were to use the best available science to evaluate the threats of infectious diseases1 in humans, animals and plants over the next 10-25 years; and to produce a vision for their management, specifically through systems for detection, identification and monitoring.
